  • Mike Basten 

    Michael Basten - PT, DPT, MTC, ATC, CSCS

    Mike’s expertise in “hands on” manual therapy along with his certifications as a manual therapist (MTC), athletic trainer (ATC) and strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), expedites his patients’ return to their sport and/or life activity safely. Before opening Foothills Sports Medicine, Mike was Director of Sports Medicine for St. Joseph’s Center for Sports Medicine. His experience includes working as team physical therapist for the Arizona Diamondbacks (MLB), the Phoenix Roadrunner’s Hockey Team (IHL), Arizona Sandshark’s Indoor Soccer Team, Phoenix Cobra’s (Roller Hockey Team) and Phoenix Mustang’s Hockey Team (WCHL). He also spent two years as team physical therapist for Arizona State University, which included 24 different sports teams. While Mike specializes in orthopedic and sport related injuries, he has vast experience caring for patients with a wide range of injuries and he has the skill to use a mix of modalities to ensure patients get better.

  • Lori Franceour

    Lori Francoeur - PT, MSPT, CSCS

    Lori has been working in Phoenix since 2000 with her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy. She has had the opportunity to work in a variety of physical therapy settings across the country most notably in San Diego at an outpatient orthopedic clinic and in Baltimore rehabilitating multi-trauma and spinal cord injuries. With over ten years experience in orthopedic and sports related injuries, the use of hands-on therapy techniques, and the ASTYM System, Lori helps patients recover from their injuries and function at their optimal level.

    Tony Heywood - PT, MPT

    Tony received his Bachelor of Science from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona and went on to complete his Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Baltimore, Maryland. Before joining the team at Foothills Sports Medicine, Tony had 6 years experience from other accredited clinics in Arizona. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and racing Motocross.

  • Erica Reali - PT

    Erica’s road to Foothills Sports Medicine Physical Therapy began with obtaining her Physical Therapy degree from Hunter College in New York City. From there, she spent fourteen years working in multiple arenas of physical therapy including home health and outpatient orthopedics. Her most recent position was with a local orthopedic clinic where she worked as the clinical director. Erica was a competitive athlete wrapping up her career as a collegiate level gymnast at the University of Massachusetts.  

  • Katie Clark - PT, DPT

    Katie is an alumnus of Arizona State University and has been in the valley for the past 6 years.
    After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Katie went on to A.T. Still University to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. In addition to practicing a holistic approach with her patients, Katie has ongoing research within the Parkinson’s Disease community. Her most recent research was performed in conjunction with the Center for Adaptive Neural Systems at ASU and the Movement Disorders Clinic in Phoenix, AZ. Her recreational interests include rock climbing, karaoke, and traveling.

  • Christen Lauer - PT 

    Christen is new to the valley and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri.  She has been involved in athletics since a young age and followed a path into collegiate track at Truman State University in MO. She graduated with an Exercise Science Degree and then attended Physical Therapy school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Christen was introduced to the sunny southwest on several orthopedic internships. She enjoys treating extremities, and has developed a special interest in the shoulder. In her spare time, Christen enjoys playing and watching sports, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
