Doug Howard, PT, MPT
Physical Therapist
Arrowhead

Doug received his B.A. in Communications from University of Illinois and his Masters in Physical Therapy at Midwestern University in 2000. Physical Therapy is Doug’s second profession following a 14-year operations and personnel management career, which included 7 years in fitness management. Since receiving his masters, Doug has continued enhancing his expertise with extensive training in orthopedic injuries, functional biomechanics, and contemporary concepts in sports medicine. Doug’s exceptional skill in manual therapy and rehabilitative exercise is instrumental in the successful rehabilitation of all his patients.

Doug’s genuine desire to help people lead healthier, pain-free lives extends outside his clinical career. In 1988, Doug founded and directed a community fitness & wellness event featuring a 10K run and youth fitness activities. In 1991, Doug successfully directed an anti-smoking campaign in high schools in Sangamon County, IL. Doug also developed a fundraising campaign to benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation in 2001 and 2002. The fundraiser provided grants and funding to disabled children and adults in order for them to pursue athletic endeavors.

In his spare time, Doug is an enthusiastic triathlete who writes injury prevention and training articles for a website dedicated to the sport of triathlon. He has completed several Ironmans, but currently stays busy 'training for life' with his new son, Dylan Wyatt Douglas Howard.
