Ken Crenshaw, ATC, CSCS
Athletic Trainer
Gilbert-Queen Creek

Ken is in his fourth season with the Diamondbacks after a 10-year stint with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, the last three of which were as the Major League head athletic trainer. The 2005 Rays medical staff was voted Major League Training Staff of the Year by their peers, the Professional Athletic Trainers Association (PBATS). The previous year in 2004, Crenshaw’s staff earned the distinction of Medical Staff-of-the-Year by Baseball Prospectus.

Prior to his promotion as the head athletic trainer for the Rays, Ken spent five seasons as the assistant Major League trainer. Before the Devil Rays fielded a big league club in 1998, Crenshaw worked for two years as the organization’s minor league medical / strength & conditioning coordinator. Crenshaw’s professional baseball training experience also featured a four-year stint as the strength and conditioning coordinator with the Atlanta Braves, and three seasons as an athletic trainer in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ chain.

Ken’s arrival in Arizona is somewhat of a homecoming for the native of Carrizozo, NM, graduating from nearby New Mexico State University with a degree in sports medicine. He is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

He and his wife, Robyn, have three sons, Wacy (10), Wyatt (8) and Dustin (6
